“I write in my notebook with the intention of stimulating good conversation, hoping that it will also be of use to some fellow traveler. But perhaps my notes are mere drunken chatter, the incoherent babbling of a dreamer. If so, read them as such.”

Basho, The Knapsack Notebook

Originally born in Twin Falls, Idaho, David R. Severson moved with his family to Colorado at the age of 6 and have lived along the Front Range ever since. As a Colorado resident, he attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and a minor in Asian Studies.

David is a firm believer in the respectful interchange of ideas across cultural barriers, which is partially why I started this blog. He hopes this blog can serve as a way to communicate his thoughts without the barriers provided by Twitter, Facebook, or other social media. His primary interests focus on psychology, personal development, neuroscience, public policy, literature, language, and philosophy.

When not writing, you can find him reading whatever he can get his hands on, including science fiction, philosophy, social science books, and more. He also is a big proponent of audio, particularly podcasts and audio books. In the great outdoor state of Colorado, you can also find him hiking, running, and generally enjoying the mountains. He has traveled abroad to China and Japan, and hopes to continue traveling internationally in the near future.
